You are entitled to an increase in your length of insurance that is equal to your actual time on parental leave.
The quarters that will be credited to your account are not tied to any calendar year: they will be added on to your total length of insurance.
You cannot receive this length of insurance increase if you have been granted a child-related length of insurance increase.

If you stop working or cut back to part-time to take parental leave, this can be counted toward your retirement pension entitlement for any children born or adopted on or after January 1st, 2004.
Up to 3 years per child will be taken into account if you stop working or cut back to part time.
These periods will be treated as periods of full-time service.

To be eligible for insurance length increases, you must have taken parental leave for a child who was born or adopted after July 1, 2006: up to 12 quarters can be credited to your account for each period of parental leave.
This increase counts toward the length of insurance under your pension scheme that is used to calculate your pension rate and toward the length of insurance under all schemes combined that is used to calculate the threshold at which a
Periods during which you stop working or cut back your hours to care for children following a birth or adoption will be credited to your account with no contribution requirement. The following will be credited free of charge toward your length of service with SNCF:
up to 12 quarters (3 years) for each child born or adopted on or after July 1st, 2008,
up to 4 quarters (1 year) for each child born or adopted prior to that date.
Eligible periods off work:
a leave of absence (“conge de disponibilité”) to care for a child under the age of 8,
child-rearing leave (“conge parental d’éducation”) granted once maternity has ended and lasting up to the child’s 3rd birthday,
leave to care for a newborn (“conge pour soins à enfant nouveau-né”) (now the “congé parental d’éducation”),
parental presence leave (“congé de presence parentale”) granted to a worker with a dependent child suffering from an illness, accident, or severe disability that requires the presence of a caregiver.
Eligible periods of part-time work:
part-time work for parents of a young child, up to the child’s 3rd birthday,
part-time work to raise one or more dependent children under age 16.

Your retirement pension scheme does not have a special program for those who have taken parental leave.
For children born, adopted, or fostered prior to July 1st, 2008
Up to one year of parental leave can be credited to your account on condition that you and your employer continued to pay contributions to the electrical and gas industry scheme throughout your period of leave.
For children born, adopted, or fostered on or after July 1st, 2008
Periods of unpaid leave or reduced working hours in order to care for children will be credited to your account with no contribution requirements.
Up to 12 quarters per child will be credited free of charge toward your length of insurance under all schemes combined and toward your length of compensation in the electrical and gas industry.
You must have stopped working or reduced your working hours to take one of the following:
parental child-rearing leave (“congé parental d’éducation)
parental presence leave (“congé de presence parentale”)
unpaid leave to raise a child under the age of 8,
an automatic entitlement to cut back to part-time in order to raise a child under age 3.
Your retirement pension scheme does not have a special program for those who have taken parental leave.
