How daily maternity benefits count toward your retirement pension
If your child was born prior to 2014: the calendar quarter in which the birth occurred will be credited to your account.
If your child was born in 2014 or later: one quarter will be credited to your account for each 90-day period during which you received daily maternity benefits.
If you received daily benefits in 2013, these will also be taken into account if the last day you received benefits was after December 31, 2013, i.e. if your maternity leave began in 2013 and ended in 2014.
How adoption leave counts toward your retirement pension
One quarter will be credited to your account for each 90-day period of adoption leave that ended after December 31, 2013.

Naissance de l’enfant avant 2014 : le trimestre civil de l’accouchement est validé.
Naissance de l’enfant à partir de 2014 : un trimestre est validé pour chaque période de 90 jours d’indemnités journalières au titre de la maternité.
Les jours d'indemnisation situés en 2013 sont pris en compte si le dernier jour d'indemnisation se situe après le 31 décembre 2013, c’est-à-dire si votre congé de maternité se situe entre 2013 et 2014.
Un trimestre est validé pour chaque période de 90 jours d’indemnités journalières de repos qui se termine après le 31 décembre 2013.
Les trimestres validés dans le cadre du congé de maternité ou d’adoption peuvent être pris en compte pour le droit à la retraite anticipée pour carrière longue.
Ils sont rattachés à l’année civile pendant laquelle a eu lieu votre congé de maternité ou d’adoption ; pour rappel, il ne peut être retenu plus de 4 trimestres par année civile.
Si votre congé de maternité ou d’adoption a débuté à partir du 1er janvier 2012, vos indemnités journalières versées depuis cette date sont reportées sur votre relevé de carrière, à hauteur de 125% de leur montant.

Des points gratuits pour la maternité sont attribués par l'Ircantec, dans les mêmes conditions que pour les arrêts de travail.
Pour bénéficier de ces points gratuits, vous devez avoir perçu pendant au moins 30 jours consécutifs des indemnités journalières pour maternité.

Your pension schemes do not credit quarters to your account for periods during which you receive daily maternity or adoption leave benefits.
However, they do grant insurance length increases for interruptions in your career and time spent raising your child(ren).

If you stop working to take at least 90 days of maternity leave, your supplementary old-age insurance scheme will:
exempt you from two quarters of contributions
and award you 2 points.
Exception:
You will not be eligible for the exemption above if it was previously awarded to you due to a pregnancy-related pathological condition.
Periods of unpaid maternity leave can be credited to your account, either free of charge (credited as days) or through the purchasing program (credited as days and salaries).
Periods of adoption leave can be purchased.
